Dear Folsom Resident,
Hello, from your Folsom Republican F.I.R.E. Party Council candidates, Margaret “Mimi” Veneziani and Lou “Skip” DeStefano. Below we will provide you with some insight into who we are and our goals.
I (Mimi) was privileged to have served the Folsom Board of Education for 17 years and 13 years as President. Along with providing an excellent education, we were able to build Folsom School into the No. 1 School Choice district in the state while withstanding state budget cuts and keeping taxes down. As a board member, I experienced all aspects of the board including, but not limited to, the Finance, Personnel and Building & Grounds Committees. I have dedicated myself to volunteering in our community through the Cub Scouts, Folsom Athletic Association, St. Mary’s of Mt. Carmel Parish, the Susan B. Komen Walk and the Folsom Home and School Association. As a volunteer, I have assisted with the past Folsom Volunteer Fire Company events. Also, I am a founding member and the current Vice President of the Folsom F.I.R.E. Party. Many of you may know me from R.E.A.D. in Hammonton; I have been a Teacher there for 24 years.
I (Skip) have dedicated myself to our community through many years of volunteering. Currently, I am the President of the Folsom Board of Education and have been a member for 14 years. I have also represented the Folsom BOE on the Hammonton BOE for the past 13 years. My community volunteering includes the Folsom Parks and Recreation Commission, Environmental Commission, Folsom “Tot Lot” Playground, Folsom Athletic Association, Planning/Zoning Board, Hammonton Little League and Hawks Football. Also, I am a founding member and past President of the Folsom Educational Foundation and a founding member and current President of the Folsom F.I.R.E. Party. I was the past Folsom Zoning Officer/Recycling Coordinator and was an elected Folsom Councilmen from 1995 to 1998 (some of you may remember!). Recently I retired from the NJ Department of Transportation after 36 years as a Contract Administrator.
Our goal and promise to you as elected officials will be to join our fellow Republican F.I.R.E. Party councilpersons Kyle Smith and Byron Gummoe along with Atlantic County Republican Committee Members Kathy McGee and David Cappuccio and continue to return an HONEST, RESPECTFUL and TRANSPARENT government to Folsom. Not a government that conducts business behind closed doors, not a government that does not listen to its taxpaying residents and not a government that treats its residents with disrespect as our mayor and our opponent do.
On Tuesday, November 5, 2013, we ask that you study and evaluate the candidates who are running for Borough Council. We are confident that you will see that the Republican F.I.R.E. Party will provide a government that is HONEST, RESPECTFUL and TRANSPARENT. If you should have any questions and /or comments please feel free to contact us.
Sincerely,
Margaret “Mimi” Veneziani & Louis “Skip” DeStefano
